Though that is a dramatic and broad statement, the underlying science behind this technique is sound and has been rigorously tested in more than 10,000 studies, and continues to be studied at the HeartMath institute. I got this book because I have heard of this technique and wanted to use it, but didn't have a clear-cut way to know I was doing it correctly. I was thinking of investing in a heart-coherence monitor. But after reading this book he says you can almost guarantee the breathing method to put you in resonance. And after practicing a few times I already notice a difference in calm, adaptive emotional attitude. For five dollars you can't skip this truly enhancing strategy. I highly recommend.

I found this book to be very informative. Recently diagnosed with some cardiac issues and found this 5 minute meditation very helpful.
I have been fascinated by HRV and heart coherence for a few years. Really appreciate the clarity and simplicity of this book. Loved the dives into physiology and the science mixed with practical application. Wish I had know this decades ago. This is a must read and must do for everyone.
The original Heartmath Institude book did not speak to me at all, but I still felt the impulse to give this one a chance. The technique offered in this book is really easy to work into your daily routine & helpful for someone with depression and anxiety. I feel like my whole personality changes (for the better) for about an hour following the exercise. It’s unbelievable. I can’t wait to see the long-term effects.
David O'Hare introduces this simple technique that will have life changing consequences. Practice 3 times a day, 6 breaths a minute, for 5 mins a time. Hence 365. And I loved the way it is written. Gently humorous, very short and to the point. He explains the science in a clear and understandable way. I was originally introduced to the heart coherence concept through the Institute of Heartmath publications, but his technique of moving into heart coherence through breathing at a pace of 6 breaths per minute is much simpler. I find I can move into coherence so much faster. Thank you!
